After various discussions and rumours finally it has finally been confirmed by the official authorities of the Indian Premier League(IPL) that Sanju Samson will be joining the five-times champions Chennai Super Kings for the IPL 2026. At the expense of Sanju, CSK has traded two of its best all-rounders, which are Ravindra Jadeja and the English all-rounder Sam Curran.

The rumours were going on for a long time, but today in the morning, it was announced officially by the social media pages of Chennai Super Kings, where they also paid tribute to the veteran lefty.

CSK CEO Kashi Vishwanathan Official Statement On Trade:

This trade is an important move in IPL history. Samson will go to Chennai for Rs 18 crore, and Jadeja will return to Rajasthan for Rs 14 crore. CSK chose to make this change after two difficult seasons where they could not reach the Playoffs and faced issues like an older middle order, not enough big hitters, and their spin bowlers not doing well.

“Sanju Samson will now represent Chennai Super Kings at his existing league fee of INR 18 crore,” the IPL said in an official statement.

Sanju Samson joining Chennai will make their batting much stronger. He played 11 seasons for RR, scored 4,027 runs, helped the team reach the 2022 final, and had his best season in 2024 with 531 runs. After IPL 2025, he asked to leave the team, so a move was needed. CSK also wanted a reliable player after Dhoni, so they became the best team for him.

Ravindra Jadeja played 200 matches for the Chennai Super Kings. During this time, he scored 2,354 runs, took 152 wickets, and made 94 catches.
