Just as when BBL was about to get a high-profile Indian Player, an emotional Instagram post from Ravichandran Ashwin confirmed that he would not be able to feature in the upcoming BBL Season 15 owing to a knee injury.
The news has come from the Indian off-spinner himself, who had signed for Sydney Thunder. They set him to become the first male Indian cricketer to feature in Australia’s premier T20 tournament.
In his letter, Ashwin showed disappointment but vowed to focus on rehab and return stronger.
He also thanked the team management, staff, and fans for their support. Though he will not join the Thunder at the beginning, if his recovery goes well, with doctors giving the nod, he hopes to join them sometime during the season.
